Just at the first of 3 high tides we will have during the storm, the back bay is full to the point there is nowhere for the water on land to drain to. The bay near us is bulkheaded so the high tide won't typically flood onto land, but the drains into the bay are below water at this point so the streets cannot drain into the bay. We have about a foot of water flowing past the house:
Due to the 50 MPH winds the bays won't drain fully before the next 2 high tides, so if we get a lot more water the flooding could be worse. Prediction is it will crest somewhere around 7' above MHWL, Sandy was 9'+. Should stay dry.
House faces about 10 degrees east of north, nor'easter winds hit us dead on. Lost one hanging porch light so far, but the internet still works. Looks like a good day for coffee and a screwdriver.
Hope everyone is staying dry out there.
