How're you holding up, eastern U.S.?

The fire hydrant is my yardstick - if the water reaches the level of the green cap I will need to figure out how to move the truck up onto some lumber ramps to get a bit more elevation.

PS - Snow is only good for postcards.

If the water gets much higher will you still have room to maneuver the truck to get it onto some planks or blocks?

Hi
If the U.K has 25mm of snow it causes chaos!! If had 30mm.............I dread to think!

Great pictures Peter...that Indiana is just too darn cute!

That rising water and the ice floes Richard, is a very scary thing. Is there a plan B?

[member=1619]SRSemenza[/member] - should be okay, I have 10' behind the truck & am betting it won't be an issue. Besides, I have been trying to justify a new F-150...

As of now water level dropped around 8" from the last high per my hydrant measuring stick @ about an hour past low tide, next high tide is 20:04 EST. I'll just watch it until midnight, thanks you hanging in with us.

The folks I feel sorry for will be shoveling 2-3' of drifted snow when this all blows over.

We got roughly 18" near Trenton, New Jersey.
Fortunately, the winds were not bad at all.  Never lost power.
Not looking forward to clearing my 600 foot driveway tomorrow... [scared]

I blew out 14" around noon.  We got another 3-4" since, and then a 2 hour respite this afternoon 30 mins northeast of Trenton) with very little snow, but it's cranking up again.  My big blower is earning it's keep!  Meanwhile my dog is looking at me like I'm a criminal.  He's pacing back and forth and crying/whining.  He can see the white stuff, why should he be locked up??  I'll take him out tomorrow for play and pics.  Love the pics of the golden duo Peter!

Glad I relied on the Weather Channel , Not.
20"
And still going strong. Was out once with the blower but to look at it now you would never know
Going to wait it out tonight before I go back
Out again.

So what's your complaint?...these sorry sots only get paid $250,000+ a year and they only have access to over 1 million worth the equipment, and you expect them to make the right call?...come on....be realistic.

It is interesting however, that you're feet are held to the fire because you had a $100 cost overrun on a project...

Richard.  How did you make out thru the night and morning tides. My hope is all went well

Hi Sal, ended up the first tide was the worst, we didn't get any more substantial rain/snow. looking out the window this AM we have a couple inches of snow to clear out that fell late last night. All's well, thanks for asking. How did you make out?

Appears that Brigantine dodged the bullet, but other shore points to the south of us weren't so lucky, they got more water than during Sandy:

Hope everyone else came thru okay, & thanks for riding out the storm with us.

Richard,  great news!  Now the aftermath and the slop.

Sun is shining here and soon it will be time to start shoveling snow - not advice.

Just like kidney stones these things will usually pass.

As of a few minutes ago, I have 24" in front of the house, and no plow has touched my street yet.  Looks like more "lifting" this morning - lifting a snow shovel for a while, lifting an Advil to my mouth, lifting a beer to my face, and lifting my sorry arse onto the couch when the napasaurus arrives this afternoon.  Looks like I'll be teleworking for a few days...
