Hi Guys,
I need help on what to buy.  I am looking at a FUJI system since most posts seem to like them.  I dont really want the Q series as I do not mind noise.
I mainly want the sprayer for clear finishes like shellac, laquers and poly's.  I normally use oil based products right now but am open to water based.  I would like the ability do use latex paints but it is not that important to me at the moment.
Would you recommend the Semi-Pro 2, Platinum 3, 4 or 5? Pressure pot?  The price between the SP2 and M5 is a little over double.  I have no problem with that if it is worth the investment.  Rather cry once...

Thanks,
Trevin

I have the Fuji Q5. I like it a lot. If you go Fuji be sure and don't get there air hose, its really bad quality compared to the rest of the unit. Mine melted at the turbine while i was spraying finish. I purchased one from Graco and it is much better.

I went with the Fuji MM 3 Platinum and am super pleased with the results so far.  I recently finished a large group of custom shelves and cabinets and used WB stain, followed by WB sealer and topped with WB top coat (all from Renner Coatings) to match the factory cabinets in a new home.  I needed to thin the clears about 5-10%, but got zero orange peel.  The T75G gun was simple and quick to clean and the quality is excellent.

I haven't tried to spray latex yet, but since I'm not a professional finisher requiring a lot of use with latex based finishes, the 3 stage was my preferred unit considering the overall budget and I have zero regrets.

Platinum 3 should be fine with what you are planning to spray.

I would call them and let them know, they are very good when it comes to dealing with problems with their machines.

It's there new blue hoses. There no good. I think they moved to a new supplier. The black hoses were better. Lots of complaints online about the new hoses. If they did anything they would just replace it with another crappy hose.

I would go with the Q5 Platimun as you can dial it down to a 4 stage, 3stage and so on. As for the hose they have a new and improved hose that is grey in colour. As for the technical support that Fuji provides is second to none. They are very customer orientated and will work with you to make things right if needed. They have been great to me.
One day you may want to spray paint. When I spray poly I turn down the turbine and when I spray paint I turn it up. I love having the freedom and choice.

Cheers. JC

I would recommend you get the largest you can afford like a 5 stage, regardless of what brand you choose. I started with a 3 stage (3800 Graco) and now I have a 5 stage, a Graco 9.5. You can always dial down, but not necessarily dial up. Resale of larger units is also better.

FWIW I've had good success with my Apollo 5 stage. Have used it with light clears like GF Enduro up to latex. No regrets. I wish you well with whatever you go with.

I was told by a dealer that Fuji included a short heat dissipating hose which gets attached first to the 5-stage package.  I've had their black/dark grey  whip hoses blow off the 25' hose on a Q4 when used outside with the sun beating down on it.  I've added the heat dissipating hose to my setup.
