I've seen a few wooden iPhone speaker stands on Instagram & wondered how well they worked so thought I'd make one for my own phone.
I've got a few 6x2 1/2" offcut blocks of walnut varying in length so I cut one to fit the biggest lathe chuck I have & turned a cone in the centre.
The slot for the iPhone was cut with the domino XL with 8mm bit using an angled cut going 15mm in at first & then deepening the cut in the centre into the top of the cone to let the sound through.
I'm really surprised how it increases the sound when you put the phone in, I'm guessing it's because it's directing the sound.
Just need to iron my back drop cloth [big grin]
