I just wanted to take a moment to let the group know that The Tool Nut understands customer service better than most.  If you are not working with these guys you may be doing a disservice to yourself.  Every step of the transaction is monitored and communicated by them and to the customer, what a great company.

I second that. All my dealings with The Tool Nut have been focused on my needs. Sean and his staff have gone out of their way to keep me informed and updated about my orders. You cannot go wrong ordering from them.

Okay... have to ask...why this post?

I can say the same thing for 1 local Woodcraft dealer... but that would be promotion to a dealer...and I didn't think that was what the site was about...

Again...why out of the blue promote a site? You don't say they stepped up to the plate and helped you...

For the record I have nothing against "Tool Nut".

Just wonder why the post out of the blue...with no supporting information.

Please Mods if I'm out of line delete this.

Cheers,
Steve

Perhaps wood pulp is just pleased with the service he received and wants to let everybody know that.  when dealing with Festool, the only difference in where you purchase is service...the price is the same across the board (with the exception of tax or lack of).  To speak very honestly, Sean Ackerman (Tool Nut), Bob Marino & Tom Bellamere are all very responsive on this forum.  I ordered a clearout T-15+3 set from Sean on the phone yesterday mid am...just received my package 20 minutes ago.  So I can agree that there was no foot dragging going on there!

I personally do not find any fault in people sharing their experiences on this forum...if I'm going to drop good money (on anything) I want to know that I'm going to be in good care both on the purchasing end and if there's ever a problem that needs resolving (returns, warranties, etc).  I would also share that so that others could have the same experience that I did...we're all looking out for each other here...nobody's getting paid to say anything...that's what I love about coming here!

I think Bob nailed it on the head, nothing wrong with sharing your experience with vendors.

I have bought from several vendors, and have had pretty good experiences from them all. I also agree that Toolnut is on their game, and they are becoming my vendor of choice... Anytime I shoot them a question to them over email, I get a response in minutes. Anytime I place an order, I have a tracking number shortly after. They are FAST!

I agree with the original poster.

Tool Nut is also becoming my go-to for Festool products.  They are very prompt and always answer questions and orders immediately.  I get a feeling they really genuinely want my business, as opposed to just expecting it.

I think that it's useful to share experiences with vendors both good and probably even more important the bad experiences.  I like Rockler overall but when it comes to Festools I have found them to be the least knowledgeable I have dealt with.  It's a comfort to know these three "prominent" Festool vendors on this forum are top notch.  Probably because they spend so much time on here their in depth product expertise far surpasses some of the other houses that just also sell Festools.

I have been out of town, but wanted to reply...although most have already chimed in.  There have been a handful of folks, lately, looking for recommendations on dealers.  Also, there was a post a while back speaking very negatively about a particular chain of retailers.  It seems in this day and age we always here about a bad experience, but not as much a positive one.  I had a great experience with Sean and his group and just wanted to share.  I have also had great transactions with Bob Marino as well.  Both of these guys treat the customer as they would want to be treated and take the time to understand their customers needs.  I am sure there are plenty of good dealers out there, this is just me sharing some positive experience with the group.

Woodpulp,

I don't have an issue with the dealers you mention.  I just wanted to put it in context what they had done for you to feel that way. I'm now doing what I enjoy and in a past life worked in the Advertising and Marketing area for a MN, Electronics retailer that has a yellow tag.  I know that Negative customer reactions are transmitted to a min. of 14 other people. Neutral events....0. A much better or far more positive than normal experience is lucky to reach 4 others.

I agree and want the good Dealers to be promoted and the ones with issues to be helped by Festool to correct the issues or not continue to be a dealer.

From a Marketing standpoint, I would like to see Festool promote the brand so that Dealers get more support.

How many of us watch This Old House and Ask This Old House and count the number times we see Festool tools being used... with no name mention. Hey....Festool.... think about supporting the show!!!!!!  .... it attracts high end viewer that hire high end providers to do the the work they need... and we use the quality tools to do the job.. Festool tools. That will lead to more growth for Festool sales in America.

Just like a rope on a hill. You can push it up hill or you can pull it up hill. You just have to determine a marketing plan that applies the force from the correct end. As a consultant that has worked about the world.... I find great companies in a country and everything works...but when they cross boarders.... the culture changes and the product fail.  As an example walk into any home in America and the interior doors will be open.... go to German home and all the interior doors will be closed. How you market in America is different than how you market in Germany.

This is not about the quality of the Festool product it is about how it is marketed.

Cheers,
Steve
