I wish Festool added lights to the working area of more tools

It's a missed opportunity that tools like the Dominos don't have a 'working area' light. Something you find on the TID 18, but directly lighting the alignment tick marks on the plastic viewer, as one example.

Now that I'd pay extra for...an LED on a Domino...not so much.

I could've used a light yesterday under the uppers before the cabs lights have been installed. Cordless would've been nice too. I'm baffled by Festools resistance to this.

Later I was using my Makita power file to open up a fixture hole. The sander has a tiny LED that I could aim down the hole. It was an illuminating moment. Makita gets it.

I'm definitely interested in that Dutton Domino light. I've had times when I've been using flashlights to illuminate the work area.

Maybe some more lights in the shop itself?
My space in the old shop was very well lit, but the lights were pretty high too.
Now, in my home shop, I have a row of LEDs than run along the cabinets, above my Systainers. I never realized how much my body was blocking the light before. It also extends over my big roll cabinet. That is far brighter.
The only issue I have ever had from great lighting, is that Shaper Origin is not really a fan of it. Apparently, the flickering of LEDs is annoying to the camera. Humans can't see it though. I can turn of certain sections, to alleviate that problem.
Bottom line, I would rather the light shine in the room, than from the tool. The only real exception is the Carvex, the strobe that tops the blade is great.

I borrowed our motion-sensitive step light as a proof-of-concept.

It’s too bulky in thickness. Have to look around for a slimmer profile.

Ordered the Dutton Light for my Dominos. Price was very reasonable. I'll report back once it arrives and I've tried it out- thanks for posting the info and link...

FWIW...I purchased a couple of these from Lee Valley to try out in clothing drawers, they work well and are very compact. They claim 200 hours of battery life and I would believe that claim.
