Whew!  Following a 48-hour travel odyssey, I collapsed and then woke up to find myself back in my own bed in Florida after six weeks in Africa. [big grin]

It's always nice to come back and find the boxes waiting that I ordered while overseas...some of which I often forget I even purchased in the fog of internet browsing and impulsive button pushing. [scared]

This time I had the Centrotec Installer Kit that was on sale for a short time. It is somewhat different from the one I bought in Germany last year, but very pleased nonetheless.
Also ordered and received the StickFix sanding block. Nice little unit, but I wish there were Granat sanding pads for it in addition to the Brilliant, which seem to be the only available abrasive.
In another box, I found the Veritas Flush Cutting Saw...very nice and great price on sale!
Next up, three boxes of Hygieia White Chalk for marking wood. Enough to last at least ten years! [eek]
Finally, a Mini-Systainer that contained my new Festool Apron. Sweeeet! [big grin]

Missed Christmas while working in Nigeria, but coming home now it was as if Santa came late!
Kapex is next, but waiting to see if the rumors of a sale come true in the next few days....or an upgraded model.

Happy WW'ing New Year!

Cheers,

Frank

Agree. c'mon Frank. Even if it's just a bird house (documented of course)

It's amazing isn't it. One minute Yer eating inna DFAC sleeping inna can, next thing your in your bed and eating some good chow and sitting at a for reals dining table.

Funny feeling Ya get when Ya walk to the shop and there's a bunch of boxes and Ya wonder what's in them.
That late night ordering and Internet cruising is something that I've never forgot.

Welcome home

Frank,

Good to hear you made it back, albeit tired....

I recall one of my last trips home from that area.  Left out of Angola on the evening flight to Dubai - that's 8.5 hours (after being up all day and leaving for the airport 4 hours early to make that 15 kilometer trip because one wreck can literally shut down traffic for hours....) Add a four hour layover in Dubai.  And while you wait for that next flight, you warmly think of how agonizingly long that 16.5 hours flight from Dubai to Houston will be....

LOL, even worst.....you are on that flight from Dubai to Houston, you've had a snack, watched a complete movie, had a meal, and wake up from a nap thinking okay, that covered a good portion of the journey, only to look at your watch and realize you still have 13 hours to go until landing.....  It's a killer....

Hi Frank

If that sanding block is the 496962 then the sanding sheets for the RTS400 should fit and you get the full range of types including Granat.

Thanks Peter, but no it's the small Pocket StickFix sanding block. No Dust Collection. Hand sanding block with StickFix mechanical fastening abrasive replacement. Convenient for quick abrading and touchups.

The abrasives are these, and only in Brilliant starting at 40 grit:

Nonetheless, I like it for knocking down small edges, and quick repairs.

Cheers,

Frank

Hi Frank

I forgot to say that I am glad you are safely back.

Yes, I had forgotten about this lovely little sanding block - I have put it on my shopping list.
