Identifying RFID on hoses

I have two Festool vacs: one with RFID detection and one without. I have 3 D36 hoses that I want to use with them.

Two of the hoses look like they have the RFID chips, while the other has a "Festool" label (see pic). Does anyone know how to figure out if the Festool-labelled one has an RFID chip?

(Ignore the colour of the hoses and connectors: I bought them / swapped them out / shortened hoses at various points and no longer know which is which -- I wish they'd put part numbers on these things [mad])

Can you bring the RFID “reader” close to the hose and see if you get a signal?

Using a metal detector, I'm still getting a signal on the labelled sticker (newer D27/32?) so I assume it's got one.  Although Cheese's RFID reader would be more certain.

edit: hrm, the sticker may have been from the CT-VT20 I swapped straight connectors with.

Yay! I hadn't realised that the vac itself would show me! Thanks so much for this!

Things I learned today:

1. What I always thought were "suction power" buttons are only "suction power" when the machine is switched on. When the machine is switched off (but plugged in), these buttons are actually "hose diameter" settings. The manual shows this...

...but the vac itself does not show any diameters like this. I do generally read manuals, but this had completely passed me by. Maybe newer models do show the diameters(?)

2. With the vac switched off (but plugged in), you can use these buttons to set the diameter of hose that you generally use, but any RFID-enabled hose will override your setting.

3. (Thanks [member=44099]Cheese[/member]!) If you push your RFID-enabled hose into the hose port when the vac is off (but it is plugged in), the light will switch to the hose's diameter. So now we can all finally identify Festool hose diameters!

4. I have 3 RFID-enabled hoses [big grin] The Festool-labelled one -- which I had doubts about -- is perhaps more recent(?). So great news: I can use them all with the RFID-enabled vac and get the benefits.

Well, I definitely learned something today, but sadly it seems that it doesn't apply to me.
My CT26 has the Bluetooth add-on, but it doesn't have that newer pattern of lights.
My CT15 has the lights, but no Bluetooth.
Is this a mini-midi thing?

It's a CTM thing.  My CTL Midi doesn't respond to the RFID either.

Same, and I thought this was a really cool use of RFID. My CT-22 might use Morse code.

For [member=64013]ElectricFeet[/member]: though your hoses did end up with RFID, I wonder if you could EKAT just the connector end, but with an RFID on it. I wouldn't know what to look for.

I have several RFID dots around the house so I can swipe past one as I put the phone on the charger and it will cue my playlist to the Sonos system.

There are two: one that fits the D32/27 (conical) hose (which is a good all-rounder hose) and one that fits the D36 hose (which is good for routers or table saws —anything that produces chips, not dust).

They are buyable separately from the catalogue — no EKAT needed. A search on festool’s site brings them up:https://www.festool.com/search-results-page?keyword=Rfid

I doubt it's that advanced...probably more like smoke signals with a saddle blanket.  [big grin]

Although...my CT 22 is equipped with a Maxsys remote and that is a real charm. That simple addition brought it up to current dust extractor relevance, unfortunately, that option is no longer available.  [sad]
