If they can offer a smaller sander why not a smaller ts?

I do a lot of cabinet installs, and was thinking today that it would be nice to have an even smaller TS for site work.  I know, I'm just being lazy, but having an even smaller saw, with maybe a 1" depth of cut or enough depth the cut 3/4 at a 45 degree bevel would be great.  Fit it into a sys 3...just saying.

The new ts55 will be announced soon so put aside any thoughts of a smaller saw. don't know how long after its launch in Europe it will be available in the the states though? [big grin] [poke]

Jon,

I would doubt that there would be an introduction of such a model because smaller saws are a niche market with limited demand.

Hrmm, a TS35 or TS25? or whatever 3/4" is in metric  [tongue].

Yes, that uses the same batteries as the drills & carvex! Oh, and hoseless dust extraction too (though that might be a bit more tricky!).

What Dean Said!  My Mate has the Mafell I got him to buy it to test it before I buy it!  and YES I will be buying one just saving money for stuff I NEED not WANT lol

Its dead ridiculously light and small you almost mistake it as a TOY! but it has so much power for it size you wont believe it!  and being able to carry just a systainer is mint!

You have a flexible rail and a short rail and saw all in a systainer!    I must admit though the flexi rail aint the best but it does the job and less to carry!

I think that could be accomplished with a dust bag or container. The TS55 will throw most of the dust into the hose far enough to make several cuts. Granted, limited capacity, but it could be very handy for some things.

FYI - the wire-framed square canvas dust bag that comes with Bosch planers fits the TS55 dust port perfectly and because it's a wire-framed reenforced design. allows for great dust collection with the TS.

I use it outside sometimes just to keep the sheetgoods cleaner.

Catches a LOT of the dust without a vac.

Probably available from Bosch for under $20.  If Festool sold it, you'd all be in line to buy it for $80...

Well not hose less but cordless vac!  You can have a small vac on your back like a vac bag with a hose coming from it and you have a hook on your side to hook your mini TS onto.

OR. A mini cordless vac and mini TS both run on their own batteries and the TS hooks onto the vac so you carry both of them as one and when you un hook the mini TS from the vac the vac turns on or even better the mini TS has a transmiter and the vac has a reciever so when you start your mini cordless TS it activates the Mini cordless vac

I believe that would be a TS19.05

lol

To small 19.05  lol It would have to be a TS28  5mm for the rail leaving you 23mm just enough for 22mm MFD    a TS like that would do me fine for site and im sure battery powered on would last with a blade that small and would be so small and light!

That would be 31 then  [tongue] Making it 26mm just enough to cut 25mm!  [tongue] [poke]

I dont often cut 25mm but I do some times so maybe it would be best for a TS31  instead of TS28    ill go for the TS31 one then lol

JMB

Make it a TS35.  I typically cut 3/4 material at a 45 degree Bevel with the blade set at 35.  Might want to add a jetpack for jmb so he can use it whilst cutting upside down on the side if a house if he wanted to... [tongue]

This thing keeps growing and growing, before you know it we will have a TS55 on our hands!
