Im buying a vacuum Starmix or Festool CTM?

I call the Festool more useful because you can add accessories.
a 2nd outlet, stack systainers on top, boom arm a work centre.
I call the starmix the best vacuum because it's simply a better vacuum.
So it depends on what's most important for you.

For Sale

Stamix ISP iPulse ARM1635EW

I bought this vacuum Ive not used it as I realised I could do with the H model instead of the M model.

So now I'm going to sell it. It has 3 years guarantee.

I also have a 5m antistatic 27mm hose for Starmix that fits Festool tools.
Also have a 49mm hose kit with tools for sucking up larger bits.

call me on 07455 013350 if your interested

I paid inc vat:
£469 for the vacuum
£79.99 for the 5m antistatic hose
£39.99 for the 49mm hose kit

I will knock of 10% than what I paid and I can provide a vat invoice if required
That is a good price . Looked all over the internet for a Starmix I Pulse vac for sale to the US , no luck .
Found a dealer with a Mafell  version of the Starmix I Pulse M rated vac.[attachimg=1] Great vacuum

IMHO a vacuum's primary job should be to suck.
I do not need accessories as the primary use for the tool.

Me too, I have no use for all the options and accessories that I will never use.

Even if one had a use for the extras, the primary use should be vacuuming.

It is like saying my car is slow, but it looks great getting overtaken because there is room on the side for stickers.
Therefore having big sides is a bonus.

And then the fast car has to go through the same traffic and wait for the same traffic lights to get there 3 minutes earlier after a 1 hour trip.

Though Festool's vacs might not be the absolute top in suction, they still perform their task quite adequately, so making the decision solely on suction power would leave you short on overal functionality. You don't buy a car simply because it is the fastest, there's a whole range of options to consider. Seats, storage space, mileage, etc etc.

Festool vacs are primarily made to be used with tools to give you the best dust extraction and a healthy environment while you work. You will find they perform optimally there and no other brand will come close to the Festool combination of tool + vac. But when it comes to pure cleaning, the Festool vacs fall a bit behind.

And then...

Yeah - I am with you.
I guess it depends on whether the OP needs the hose holder and the other bits, and how important that is to him.
It clearly ticks the box for suction.
And it seems a lot of people turn down the suction for sanding, although I never seem to have done that personally.
I suppose if it is mostly for Sanding and there is a need for the extras it makes sense to go with the Festool.
If it is mostly for other tools which seem to appreciate more flow, and/or... if there is no need for the extras, then his other choice seems like a good one as well.
The fact that is 140 quid cheaper seems a bonus.

There are no really bad decisions here.

If someone just wants the vacuum and not the accessories thats OK with me.

Is it possible to adjust the suction strength on the IPulse Starmix ISP ARM-1635 EW or for that matter the Metabo ASR 35M ACP models? They both have dials for hose diameter, is this where suction can be adjusted? And is there any difference between the 2 models, other than wattage?
