I'm missing Boom Arm parts

I just bought a new Festool Boom Arm from one of my two local dealers who is – unfortunately – going out of business. It was not boxed... just loose parts. He advised me that ONE piece was missing. To fit my CT26, I'd need to purchase the CT26 bracket. However, after studying the assembly instructions, it appears that I'm also missing several other parts.

To complete the assembly I'll need:
1. The lower CT26 tube support bracket AND hardware.
2. The upper arm support (mounts higher on the handle} AND hardware.
3. The 2 cross members for the support tubes AND hardware.

Can these parts be purchased separately? What are the costs?
Can someone please provide the part numbers?

I thought that I got a Boom Arm at a very good price... but now I'm not so sure.

Thanks for your assistance.  I really appreciate it.  Joel

My guess is that the best way for you to find the parts would be thru the Festool USA website.  Here (hopefully) is the page from the Electronic Catalog (ekat) for the boom arm:  Ekat / Boom arm

If for some reason the link doesn't work, go to www.festoolusa.com.  Click on the support tab, then the parts catalog tab.  Choose the Accessories item on the left and then boom arm.  Because the site uses java it may not work for you on a mobile device.

Thanks Peter, but the Ekat link didn't work for me.

The Festool catalog shows the lower handle bracket only as part of a new handle purchase. I have the handle itself. But not the bracket. My Boom Arm was for the CT22. The dealer said everything fits my CT26 except that I needed one bracket to make it work. Is the handle the same for my CT26?  I sure don't want to buy a second handle just to obtain the bracket. That's $80.00! And, the cross members for the support tubes aren't listed at all.

What happens when someone loses or breaks a part? Can't they obtain replacement parts individually?

Could you please recommend a dealer – or someone at Festool – that might arrange my purchase of non-catalog "replacement" parts?

Thank you very much for your help.  Joel

The lower bracket (Item 1 on your list) is included with the CT26 handle, along with the hardware.  You do need to order the newer handle, as the older handle for the CT22 will not fit your CT26.

You will also need to order the upper bracket (Item 2 on your list).

The cross members (Item 3 on your list) can be ordered directly from Festool USA -- and they can help you identify any additional parts that you may need.

Corwin's right. You're handle for the CT 22 will not work. You will need the CT handle (495 802) for the CT 26 and Boom Arm Support Bracket (496 780). Spare parts can be ordered from our service department. The components I listed must be ordered from a dealer.

Hey Shane, what's up with posting a link to the EKAT system?  The usual method doesn't seem to be working...

So, Iwood will need to order the CT26 handle and bracket from a dealer and then call Festool to order any additional spare (or missing) parts.  So much for 'one stop shopping'  -- just kidding.   [wink]

Hmm, didn't realize that that form of linking wasn't working any more. I'll have to contact Germany since they administer the EKat. I'll have to get back to you.

Thanks everyone for the very useful information. I'll order the parts from a dealer and the misc. components from Festool. While I believe that my dealer honestly thought that I'd only need to order one part, it's very disappointing to learn that, before this is over, I will have spent just about the retail cost of a new boom arm package – not to mention all the additional time and trouble to put it all in order. Guess this falls in the "When it seems too good to be true, it probably is" category.

Looking on the bright side at least you had both hands free when you carried it to your car, when you left the shop..... [blink] [wink]

I'd like to view the Festool Parts Diagram of the Boom Arm which fits the CT26. Perhaps it's a problem on my end due to my Mac/Safari browser, but I can't get Ekat to show the illustration. However, the parts' numbers/price chart does come up. Where the diagram would appear, it's just an empty space. Can someone please post the parts diagram image? Screen capture or whatever.  Thanks!  I do appreciate your help.  Joel

Joel, make sure you have Java installed on your computer. You can get it free http://www.java.com.

Sorry Peter, I view the replies so quickly... I thought they were both from Shane.  Thank you Peter!  Joel

You are welcome!

You may not need to install Java.  If you are using a Mac and Safari go to in the main menu while in Safari and then click | Safari | Preferences | Security | then make sure that the box next to Java is checked.

Peter

Thanks again, Peter.  "Enable Java" is now checked and the Ekat diagram page opens perfectly.
What a site... I get my boom arm AND my computer fixed with one post!
