My wife did a little shopping for me before the price increase.  She told me about it last week or so because she was buying a new toy for scrapbooking.  She got her new toy today so I asked if I get mine.  She said if I wanted it.  So out comes 4 boxes of Festool goodies.
LR32 Set
OF1010 Router with Edge guide and guide stop
1400 LR32 rail
MFS700
MFS400
I was so jazzed but I'm going to return the OF1010 because I have the OF1400 and returning the MFS400 and getting the 200 Extension profiles.  I will also be picking up the KA UG set.  The picture is pretty dark, I guess my flash did not go off on my phone.  What a way to end a day.

Don

You certainly are the luckiest guy on the FOG today, you better hold onto that girl and keep her happy!

Cool wives are wonderful, aren't they? You're a lucky man indeed...

Please think twice before you exit the 1010. I've got a 1010 and a 1400 and I'm glad I have both ... and I haven't even got the LR32 set yet.

Ultimately the 1010 will be my go to for dovetail and LR32 work. Maybe / maybe not for edge trimming, depending on whether I get the MFK700 impulse [smile]

I think you're MFS thinking is solid ... the only reason you'd have multiples there is if you kept regular setups for repetitive stuff.

Keep the wife.

+1

A 1400 is not necessarily a substitute for a 1010, different beasts.

A definite on keeping the wife(best friend).  I have 32 wonderful years with her already and planning on many more.

As for the 1010 I have the MFK700 and several PC routers. I think I will benefit from the KA UG at this time. Maybe down the road I may change my mind.

I think I would keep the 1010 also. It's a fantastic little router , especially with the lr32 set-up. I believe the lr32 system was designed to use the 1010 , I haven't used the 1400 & lr32 together but I think it might be abit clumsy. I maybe wrong with that entire last statement . Keep the 1010 or you'll make many fog members angry!  [mad]

If I keep the 1010 then I can't afford the KA UG which I really want now. I mean how many routers does a guy need.

As with all things ... count how many of them you have. Now add one to that number. There!

Also, let's be fair ... you wife caused this problem [wink] [big grin] I think she needs to sort you out with your KA UG set [thumbs up]

+1!!!  I'm with Kev on this one.  And take that dear lady to a VERY nice place for dinner where she doesn't have to cook or clean up!!!  She's a keeper.

[smile]

I'd ditch all the P-C routers (except perhaps the 7518 or 8529) and keep the OF 1010.  It's such a sweet router and so good for use with the LR 32 or a dovetail jig like the Leigh Super 18.

+1 on your wife Don.  I also give a +1 on the 1010, it is a real pleasure to use on a lot of task as it can do the job and is so easy to handle.

Though it seems contrary, if you run the numbers, it is cheaper to return the MFS700 and get the 700 profiles separately.

I thought I had looked at that previously. Will look at at returning the MFS 700.
Thanks
