Impact and PDC update ?

..............so this supports Mr. Broud's posting and HQ's decesion.  But, Southern England and France are a long way form the U.S.

Hopefully TylerC can weigh in on the popularity (or not) of these in the USA.

I think we sometimes forget that all the Festool markets receive what HQ in Germany decide they are going to release next.
As Phil and others pointed out, that is often dictated by EU law changes or the EU market, not the global market.

For markets outside of Germany, you can either sell these new tools and like any other brand release new tools more frequently even though they don't appeal to everyone.
Or you don't and then there is the perception that you are standing still and falling behind.

Maybe Festool are adapting to the times and trying to appeal to the broader market place instead of releasing TS55s, Domino 500/700, Rotex and Kapex120s?

They released the HK series, updated the ETS 150s and made them brushless, updated the ETS, RTS, DTS sander.
Released the KS60 mitre saw. Bosch, Makita and Metabo all have saws with similar cut capacities.
Now they've announced the cordless sanders.

IMO these latest releases or updates are very "general" market tools
