Impact Drivers?

My makita is the exact same as the one on 1st video and I couldn't drive a 250mm screw last week, had too use a ratchet and socket [mad] then yesterday used a friends 18v Panasonic and if felt loads more powerful but I don't like howyouhave too turn the light on and off that's just stupid, that hilti looks great though

I still have to pick up a 250 or 300 mm screw to see how it compares to the Milwaukee and Festool in JMB's video.  I tried a 1/4" x 6" Spax yesterday and felt like I needed to feather the trigger on the Hilti, for fear that the timber I was using would explode  [scared]. Okay maybe it wasn't quite that fast but, the 6" screw went in incredibly quick and there was no indication of it slowing down. I'll see if I can track down a few longer screw and post a video this weekend.

Woodie, that thing looks nice! Put it through some tests and let us know how it does. I have been eying Hilti for a  bit now, one of my friends (drywaller) has the 3.3 AH screw gun and circ saw and cut walmonized 2x12s for his trailer,2x4s for the stake pockets, and then hung 2 rooms the next day on the same charge. I thought that was impressive, makes me want HIlti.  [wink]

Thanks! I had the SFH 18 hammer drill with 2.6Ah batteries before. I don't believe it was brushless but I still got really good runtime. The SID should be even better yet, being brushless and 3.3Ah. If I get ambitious I'll try to make a short video on the SID. I need to pick up some 300mm screws like the ones JMB used first.

They where 400mm screws  [tongue]
