Impact

Yes and if you're interested in getting one Tool Nut has them 30% off. I assume any other dealer would too.

Festool do need to have an impact driver in their line-up. Despite what some say about them being too noisy they save a huge amount of strain on the wrist. There are times when one is faced with 200+ 6x80 mm screws to put in and it is common sense to use an impact driver.

A guy at my local Festool dealership told me this two or three months ago. I thought maybe he was just saying it because they didn't have one in stock and it would force me to buy the Makita that I ended up buying. Looks like I owe him an apology.....

Some uk dealers still have stock of the Ti15. Have a look on ebay. They are being sold off reasonably cheaply.

I picked up one of the last few bare versions from nuts and bolts at the begining of december, but think they have now sold all of their stock.

I will say that the festool impact does not seem to sound as loud as my work mates dewalt or my makita.

When I said that some people found impact drivers too noisy I was referring to impact drivers in general not to the Festool product.

Sorry Peter if i gave you the impression i was bashing you over the noise issue. That was not my intention.  [embarassed]

I was just trying to pass on my ( non scientific ) experience with my Ti15 so far.  [smile]

I did not think you were having a go at all. They are noisier than other drill/drivers but they do a great job at getting screws in - particularly the large ones.

I have an Hitachi impact which took over from the previous Hitachi impact which I had to replace as the batteries had gone and would cost more than a new machine to replace.

I suspect that the German market is not so hot for impact drivers but we shall see.

Does anyone know what Festool might have up their sleeve?

Peter

The impact is one great tool, no comparisons to regular drill if you install screws, night and day difference, I never use the regular screw gun anymore to install screws., I hope they are coming out with a new model. I use the impact all the time, like I said, it is the only way you should install most screws.
