Hello,

Is intelligent Workshop still in business ?  http://www.intelligentworkshop.co.uk/

I ordered 2x Parf Dog, 2 x rail dogs and 2 x bench dogs ten days ago. The status of my order is still "pending". I sent several emails to intelligent Workshop and to Tom Sustins... but they stay without response... I often purchase on internet and i never saw that. It's a shame. The customer service seems to be near of 0. I it's like that for the after-sales service... my god !!!

I'm annoyed because I really wanted to buy the Parf Dogs.  >:(

As far as I know they are still in business, there  have been  other fog members complaining of the same poor sevice on and off for some time and promised changes dont seem to have happened.. I think you will get your dogs at some point. [sad]

Hello Vince

We are still in business, thanks for asking.

I'm afraid we no longer stock the 'Dogs' range of products.  We are also winding down our Festool offering.

You have not been charged for your order and it will be cancelled.

As Intelligent Workshop Supplies are no longer supplying the Dogs range I will be happy to help. I make and supplied the Dogs range including the Parf dogs to Tom. They are available for immediate despatch, please message me if I can help.

I ordered a veto tool bag from intelligent workshop,  heard nothing about my order for over a week.  No reply to 2 emails and 2 phone messages!!  Very frustrating.  Cancelled order got full refund, but no explanation.  Not impressed.

john if you made and supplied the dogs for intelligent workshop I wouldn't advertise the fact, I bought a set of  these rail dogs and a set of parf dogs and they were rubbish, the discrepancy in size between the dogs was shockingly bad, were one dog would fit very slopply in a mft hole the other would require a mallet to put in,in short they were not fit for purpose,i would strongly advise against buying from this particular source.

I would like to make it clear that I had allowed IW to use my Parf Dog design free of charge and I received nothing (apart from a pair of Parf Dogs !) from them.

A world wide tool producer is in the final stages of pre-production work (tooling and so on) on the new Parf Dogs. They also have some marketing work to do as well. With their reputation and proven engineering skills the new Parf Dogs will be brilliant.

peter, I was not suggesting you had any association with IW other than you had previously and repeatedly described, the poor standard of those dogs is no reflection on yourself, your design is very useful and I look forward to purchasing a set of parf dogs when they are made to  much better tolerances with a different company, adrian

Thanks Adrian. There is an old Chinese curse - 'may you live in interesting times' - I think that this has been an interesting period for the Parf Dogs. I have learnt a lot and, until today, did not realise that there were quality control issues that IW should have addressed. The new products will be made to a very tight specification and by a company with a world wide reputation for quality and attention to detail - they are also one of the most respected woodworking companies in the world.

Peter

Hi Adrian, I'm sorry to hear that there was a badly made dog that got out there. Please pm me with your details and I will replace it straight away. I have not had any negative feedback regards quality until now, they are made in the UK by an extremely reputable company who I'm sure would not like to hear that one slipped through the net. :
Looking at a previous post of yours regarding dogs, you mentioned paying import duty on your precision dogs, they wouldn't be mine.

John

Tom,

If you want no more sale this bench dogs, it's your choice and i have of course nothing to say.
But they were in stock when i purchased on your site.  So, after my emails, you could simply reply me and it was finished.
It's sad that this problem must be on the public place to obtain a reply : only 11 MINUTES after my post...
Well, as you cancel my order,  it's a closed case for me.

Peter,

Thanks a lot for this good news ! i hope it will be soon !    ;D

I believe we either refunded you or exchanged.  Sadly we did have several quality issues with the dogs and they where never a 'finished' product.  We continued to sell them mainly because the market wanted them.  If I had realised they where going to be as popular as they where, I would have researched my own manufacturer, but we live and learn.  Personally I was never happy with the price point and hopefully Peter's solution will address that.  I really do wish him well in that.  I'm sorry we had to let customers down.

In the past I have always thought highly of intelligent workshop I have even said so on here, I had found them helpful and gave a great service. But my last transaction dragged on for weeks and I got no replies to calls or e-mails, my order is still not complete but I am so sick of it I have given up, still missing lid insert for a multimaster systainer.

I don't know what has happen for a company to let there a* service slide so dramatically. I didn't even get an apology let alone a response after weeks of waiting.

I hope they can sort things out.

Regards
Leigh

Peter,

It will be good to see these move onto the next phase.

Hi Peter

Yes, then we can put all of this behind us and let Tom continue his tool sales and John his engineering and stuff.

We might get some news next week.

john, I found the rail dogs to be made to the same poor tolerances as the parf dogs, both were bought from IW and they were the ones I referred to in my recent post, the previous post of mine you referred to was about the undersized dogs included in the initial lee valley mft clamping sets, that was quite a while back and I had no issue with the tolerances, merely the size,i think as has been suggested we put all this behind us and let the matter rest, adrian

If you pm me your address, I will send you a pair of each that have been checked by my own fair hands

I was asking myself the same question as the original post when I came across this thread.
I Also ordered from Intelligent Workshop http://www.intelligentworkshop.co.uk/ about 10 days ago, and despite multiple emails and calls I've heard nothing! Possibly the worst customer services I have come across.
These guys gives small independent woodworking retailers a bad name, and will certainly make me think twice before moving away from the likes of Amazon.
Very disappointed.

Phil, if you wanted the bench, parf or rail dogs, let me know and and I'll get you some. If it's anything else I may be able to point you in the right direction.

Hi John,

Would you ship Parf Dogs across the pond to "The Colonies"? How much for a pair? ... two pairs? My zip code is 14706-9757 in the US.

Thanks, Dick
