Hi additional woodworkers!

A couple of months ago I've become a member of the FOG ;D, but I didn't had the time to propperly
introduce myself.

I'm an assistant contractor working for a little construction company in Rotterdam (the Netherlands). We work for
project developers and restorate/renovate commercial buildings.

In my leisure I like to work with wood ( this is going on since I had the age of 3 i'm now 21).

I hope to learn a lot of you guys, there are some great projects on this forum!

Welcome Rene.  There is always plenty of advise & good stories on here.  I once worked in Gouda, lovely place.

Woodguy.

Welcome to the Festool Owners Group forum René!  I once spent a wonderful long weekend in Rotterdam.

Rene,

Welcome the the FOG.  I hope that your memberhip here will be mutually beneficial.  I spent a few weeks in Haarlem working on a consulting assignment with Merck & Co. with their veterinary and agriculture group.  We stayed in Amsterdam right on the river.  What a fantastic experience.  It was in the early 80's, before you were born.

I am not a beer drinker but I remember having Amstel at a piano bar on a bluff overlooking the river.  Wonderful!

Wow 21 years old.  I think Frank P. remembers when he was 21.  I don't.

Meer Nederlanders! Ik woonde in Nederland voor 10 jaar! Ik leefde een Made kleine stad!

Welcome, Rene!

I remember having Amstel at a piano bar

Speaking of Amstel, I lived across the Amstel Canal from the rowing club for about 1-1/2 years, right where it splits into the nord Amstel and suid Amstel. It was a very nice place.

My office was in Hoofddorp.

Rotterdam's not bad either. Those flood gates are something...

Greetz René!
I hope you will enjoy the FOG.  Though the FOG is based in the U.S. we are lucky to have members all over the world who add fresh ideas!

Please post some pictures of your woodworking projects!

Thanks every body! Nice to see that nearly all of you have something with holland [thanks]!

I've made a few projects that I really wanna share with you , so I think i'm posting them over the weekend!

@jmbfestool
Made is niet zo heel erg ver bij mij vandaan, ik woon in Sommelsdijk (+/- 50km).
Dat ligt op het eiland Goeree-Overflakkee.

My grandfather worked at the flood gates of the Neeltje Jans in Zeeland (the Delta Works), I believe they
are building something like that in New Orleans at this moment...

rene, welcome and I look forward to seeing some of your projects that you do... and hopefully you can learn from me also... now go out and buy some more festools !!!  lol

but enjoy the forum I have learned alot and have acquired new friends from here also.

Rene

Welcome, I'm new here myself but already have learnt a lot by just following the threads.

Welcome René,  The nice thing about this forum is that no matter what your level of experience you can learn a lot of good tips.

Sorry for this Dutch word of welcome.

Thanks Wim!

Maybe someday i'm gonna join you in moving to America, I'd love the country!
I hope you enjoy youre stay.

Greetz René

Heb het maar in het engels vertaald, dan snapt iedereen waar we het over hebben [laughing]
Waar ga je in Amerika wonen?

I go to Allentown, PA. I recently got a fiancee visa and early November I will go to the USA and get married. Then I need to apply for green card, fly back to NL, get packing and go to the USA.
Like a real Yankee, I already started to build a workshop in the basement and started to collect tools, mostly Festools.

Maybe we will meet someday in the USA.
