Hello, my name is Chris. And I am a Festool addict. Over the weekend I through together a quick little "station" to house my Festool gear and to serve several functions. It isn't quite complete yet, but I think you'll get the idea. I would appreciate any suggestions for improvement. Basically, this will act as my MFT stand, Kapex stand, outfeed table for my TS, and an improvised sysport for the toys, I mean tools. The one thing I haven't completed yet is the actual work surface under the Kapex. That portion of the unit is inspired by the disappearing miter saw stand found here: http://www.halfinchshy.com/2010/05/disappearing-miter-saw-stand.html The rest of it was obviously inspired by the many impressive homemade sysports on FOG. I've been hanging out out here for quite a while looking for ideas. Originally I planned on building this out of 8020. Then I got an estimate. So, for the moment, I'll have to make due with this arrangement. Anyway, the idea for the Kapex is simple. When I need a miter saw, I'll use it in this configuration and add a piece of 8020 extrusion to the MFT using adjustable bench dogs. This extrusion will mate with the fence of the Kapex to provide a nice long fence. I still need to make a stop for it. Although I'm thinking about getting another stop flag, as it would work perfectly. I'm just having a hard time paying $40 for the thing. Anyone got an extra stop getting their way? [smile] When not using the saw, I'll simply pull the pins, flip the table over, and use the work surface as an outfeed table for the TS or for glue-ups. I still need to get a piece of MDF to complete it. And for what it's worth, I have included a pic of my 8020 plans, in case any of you are interested in a similar set up. Of course, your dimensions may vary. Enjoy!
