With crosscuts of course.  Is a kapex as accurate as a tablesaw with a proper miter gauge or sled.  Will it give you perfectly square results?  Is it as accurate on a 8" wide board as a 2"?  Meaning is there any flex as it travels out farther?  Thanks

More accurate in most circumstances. with fences and accurate setup a SCMS will perform better crosscuts than the average table saw with a small sliding mitre guide moving the material through the blade. Plus compound angles are more easily cut.

As will anything, spend a massive amount of money on high quality and accuracy will typically increase ...

Depends.

What are you using for a jig, with most mitre gauges not even close.

Sled, it depends, are you making your own? Buying and after market one?

What  type of saw and how true doe the blade run?

How wide a piece are you talking?

Kapex will need some sort of infeed/outfeed support for longer pieces.

I use a incra miter gauge or tablesaw sled using a WWII for crosscuts.  Both give very good results but takes much longer than with mitersaw.  But my mitersaw doesn't give dead on results, especially with wider pieces.  I would be using on on 10" wide pieces or shorter.  Will the Kapex be both fast AND accurate?

At the time I opened my new custom cabinet shop in 2010 I owned 4 Kapex. I bought the second Kapex delivered in Los Angeles, CA way back when. The master cabinet maker who is in charge of my face frame, door and drawer front department was ahead of me in line as midnight approached that special Kapex night. We became friends while waiting for the loading dock door to open, so he bought the very first Kapex delivered.

We were both impressed with the Kapex accuracy, especially mitering hardwood in the sizes typically used for face frames.

Nevertheless, we agreed that a large Felder slider saw would probably be even more accurate making those critical cross cuts and miters.

Sure enough, that Felder Kappa 550 e-Motion slider is absolutely accurate. Funny thing, so are our Kapex.

So, we find a million other uses for the Felder slider. Any of my Kapex make cuts as accurate as the slider, and they are a whole lot faster.

Yes, my two primary Kapex, the ones permanently mounted, each have a dedicated Tiger Stop serving as a CNC flag stop. To improve on the Kapex dust collection each of those permanently mounted ones have a typical miter saw dust shroud installed behind and below them. Those shrouds are connected with 100mm hose to my plant DC system. Of course the Kapex dust port is connected to the plant DC with a short 36mm AS hose into am "accelerator" which increases the velocity of the collection at the Kapex dust port.

For a slider saw the DC of the Felder is better than average, but no way as effective as my Kapex with the extra dust shroud.

Wow.  Thats quite the setup.  Any pictures?  Website?

I would like to see tour of your shop.

I tried to use my kapex to make multiple 30 degree cuts for a tumbling block floor,it wasn`t accurate, probably about half a degree out,but that was too much for what i needed,so used my cs50 with 2 fences set up,the result was perfect

I can use my Kapex for everything I do.  Doors and faceframes for kitchens and baths.  Crosscutting drawer parts for dovetail drawers.  Everything comes out fine.  I have a home made flip stop.

I also have a an Incra Miter 5000 sled.  And I have to admit that it is a bit more accurate and the cuts are a bit better.  So I could cut all the aforementioned stuff on the 5000.  Sometimes I use the Incra just for a change of pace.  And I use it when I need precise angles that aren't on the Kapex detents.
