Is it necessary to square up an MFS before use?

Hi chaps,

As per the title, would I need to square up the MFS before using it, or can you just tighten her up and away you go? If it needs squaring, I might as well go for the cheaper Varijig by Trend...!

The MFS is the best square I own.

Both my MFS 400 and 700 were square out of the box.
