Is this a new Festool tile cutter?

Just received an email on what appears to be a new dust free tile cutter from Festool?

It's called a Freehand Diamond cutter

Been advertised at my local here for the last few months. Quite small blade size so was disappointed with it.Comes in two sizes I think. Don't think it can cut standard 100mm (4inches) concrete so not much use to me . Would have liked to try a bigger one. I've got some concrete paths and a driveway that need cutting and would have like to have tried it on that but decided it wouldn't cut deep enough. Pity as I HATE using the big big concrete saws so damn noisy and messy and dangerous.

This one has a cut depth of 27 mm and is mostly meant for tiles. There is a bigger one with a 230 mm blade and cut depth of 63 mm, great for concrete pavement tiles. That thing is also heavy, dangerous and very noisy, comes with the territory. If you want to cut 100 mm, that's gonna require an even bigger tool and that's outside Festool's scope.

If you need 4" of depth, something like this is your only option. This has a 14" blade and will cut to a depth of about 4 3/4". I don't even think a 12" blade will cut to a 4" depth.

To cut 100 mm concrete you need at least this chainsaw: Stihl GS 461.
Available with a 300 or 400 mm blade length with diamond tooth.

  From your response i guess you like it [big grin]. It was launched earlier in the Spring in Europe so as mentioned earlier we may see this at some point in the U.K.
