First off i just want to say that i may be posting this in the wrong place so feel free to move it if so.

Ive been using a colleagues festools for around 5 years now and have been more than impressed with the quality of tool and the finish they leave, so much so that last year i began my own collection of festools starting off with the tools he didnt have. So around a year ago my first purchase was the kapex to upgrade from his old makita and ive been more than impressed with the machine, its perfect for what we do, tho i do still have a soft spot for that old makita and often we would have both saws set up on site simultaneously. We also have a makita table saw of his that we set up pretty much every day, its not a bad saw, plenty of power for what we need but not that accurate. Anyway, when we would be swamped with work the sub contractor we would use had a cs70 precisio table saw and i yearned something awful for it, so much so that i refused to purchase another cheaper table saw of my own even when at times i was in desperate need for one in the thought that when i had the cheaper saw i would just make do with it. So finally last month i bit the bullet and ordered the cs70 with the ripping fence, a ts55req plunge saw and a midi dust extractor and was told it could take up to 10 days before the tools would arrive. I work away from home and only go home maybe 1 or 2 weekends a month so the lead time didnt bother me at all as i probably wouldnt have been home for a few weeks anyway. That was on the 10th of june and today after many phonecalls and emails to no reply i finally got a friend to call round to see what was going on.... the place has closed up shop, the owner has sold his house and legged it. So im sitting here having paid for the whole lot and have zilch to show for it, hoping and praying when i go to see the bank tomorrow they can reimburse my money, paid for it with a debit card tho so im not overly hopeful  [sad]

Ive been hovering about this forum for quite some time now and only recently registered, but i never anticipated my first post to be such a downbeat one  [sad]

Gutted for you but as troll says you are covered by charge back , good luck in getting back your money , but it should be straightforward.

Aside from the debit card support I would assume when Festool establishes a dealer as a representative of their company they also have a responsibility for the performance & service that dealer provides (or fails to provide).

Dude, that sounds like outright fraud. No way does someone make decisions like that iin such a short time - he knew what he was doing when he took your money. I'd be speaking with the police among other people. Don't let that one rest ... the rotten crook [mad]

I wish we were welcoming you on a better note.

I would certainly contact Festool and see what happened - if he hadn't ordered your gear from them and has just taken your money I can't imagine Festool could help you in any way. You'll probably find you're not alone in this situation with that scum bag.

Name them - there may be a possibility someone here has a clue for you.

Kev.

I really dont know what to say other then I feel for you and you it works out.

Ouch.  [sad]

Ummm, Welcome to the forum.  [smile]  Which it was due a better experience.

How did this go? Did you get any money back?
Welcome to the FOG, BTW.
