I have a friend here who is a builder. He does everything, trim, framing, roofing, siding, etc. I have been talking to him a lot about my Festools lately. This past Saturday, he was helping me pick up a dual drum sander that I bought from someone off of Craigslist, and while driving back and forth from getting it, I was talking up the Domino. The owner of our local Woodcraft has been trying to get him to see the light for over a year now as well. Well, as we are coming up to the exit for that Woodcraft, he says, "You have time to stop?" HAHA! I always have time to stop at Woodcraft! Well, Gary, the owner, got a kick out of us coming in together. We are both rather frequent shoppers there on our own. He bought the Domino, a CT33, and the systainer of dominos. Now our wives are very worried about the times when we hang out.
Then, Tuesday, he calls me early in the afternoon, and tells me that I am getting him in deep trouble. I must say, I warned him that its an addiction, but didn't expect it this quickly. He had stopped at another local store to buy some Maple. Well, that store is getting out of selling tools. Most of their inventory has been gone for quite awhile. I had meant to stop in there long ago, just slipped my mind and I never made it. The only tools they had left were their demo Festools! So he ended up getting a slightly used MFT3 (for so cheap, I'm almost angry at him!) and a TS75! Both are in very good shape. They had a C12 drill, with all the different chucks, so I had him pick that up for me. Since they were demo's, they were 30% off! He got the MFT3 for slightly over half!! They still have a couple 1080's if anyone is interested and are in the West Michigan area. They also have a bunch of sanders, which I won't be surprised if I get a call from my friend saying he went back and bought a random orbit. And lastly, they have the planer. I am fighting not rushing over there to buy that thing, even though I really shouldn't be buying any more tools this year.
So anyway, I converted my friend, and he is officially a Festool Junkie. He has it bad. Of course, now that he is buying these tools, soon he won't need me to build his cabinets anymore. . . Oh Crap!
