I've got no idea what to do with a Sys-SB

It sounds stupid............I just bought one on Friday, but I really don't know what to do with it.  It's not big enough to putting anything taller than a tape measure in lying flat and nothing I own really seems to fit.  Not to mention the additional grey boxes are ridiculously expensive.  Now, I'm not averse to spending good money on something that will help but I'm less sure what to do with it?  My existing systainers are all T-Loc's so this doesn't really fit with my existing boxes, ok it fits on the top!

Any suggestions?  Maybe I could make an insert for it?

I use two: one is dedicated to fasteners/parts related to cabinet installs; the other holds most of my hand tools, coupled with an open tote for hammers, clamps, glue, and other larger items.
If all you want to carry is fasteners, the SYS-1 with boxes is the way to go (I have those, too,) but these are great for mixing longer items and smaller pieces/screws together.

It's hard to see where this product fits, it's a mix of a sys-1 with insert boxes and an sys-tb, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

My permanent setup is a sys-tb-1 on top, then a sys-4 T-Loc with a tool tote inside to organise as well as a meter, impact driver and sys lite.  Bolted to the bottom is a sys-mft with the coloured box insert for screws and parts etc, it works well and fits most of my needs.  The other systainers I have basically don't move, or not very often.  I hoped the sys-sb would further enhance my setup.  Maybe I need to send it back?

Handtools in mine - along with assorted fasteners in one of the fold-out sections.

I like it as a toolbox with a few fasteners.

I have mine set up for electrical work now. It holds the tools and parts needed for the job. I have been very happy with it.

I plan on setting one up as a "sprinkler kit" for low pressure sprinkler systems. (tops for cutting, puncturing, etc) and all the little bits in the boxes.

Between the gophers and the hard water, seems I'm always having to tinker with the system.

Also thinking about a "plumbing kit" (+ parts for PEX repair?). Not sure if I can get sprinkler and plumbing stuff in one box. I used PEX to plumb our house, so far haven't had to do any more plumbing.... [crosses fingers]

- Networking kit (all the tools for working with Cat 5 & 6, plus connectors etc.). Not sure this is worth it.... the stuff doesn't go bad and everything else in the house is wireless now.

- Tackle box (hmmm... I prefer to buy fish these days)

-  might be good for a Kreg pocket hole setup (jigs plus screws?)

mines filled up with and tools screw drivers ,wrenches, socket sets 1/4 & 3/8 drives, chisels putty knifes etc just about everything I need.

In general, it's not for mobility, but for hand tools that I use in my woodworking shop that seem to have no permanent home and float around the room, disappearing periodically.

Within the Systainer  line, I think the Sys-Toolbox  or the taller Sys Toolbox  would be handier for moving small things around the shop.  The Sys-SB would be a good way to top off a stack of Sys-Toolboxes with a closed unit.

I believe these are both open. While it wouldn't be absolutely necessary to have it closed, it might be nice to keep dust and dirt out (even though the CT48 does get most of it). The others seem not to be open quite like the two you suggested.

I have one and use it in a drawer to store tape measures, pencils measuring stuff, velcro tape, masking tape etc etc basically all the small stuff that normal gets lost (or that dreaded -  now where did I put that pencil.) The lids have a recessed area that I put the pencil on etc while working and now I don't lose it  ;D
Good for little stuff and handy when in a drawer too.
