I'm also a member of www.cigarlive.com. I've asked the members over there to give me their ideas for a humidor. Types of woods, designs, features and so on. Once there are enough recomendations I'm going to create a poll to narrow it down. Anyone here that wants to add their 2 cents?  ;D Should be fun or it could be the hardest project ever. :D

I guess a secret compartment would be cool. You could store the ultimate cigar in it. :o

How about a different shape than just a rectangle?  A trapezoid or maybe something curvy ala Maloof?

I've been thinking about vacuum bending something. That might be an option.

That looks outstanding, Bill!

Where did you get the vacuum bag set up?

Tom

Looks great!  What did you do to get the plys?  Did you bandsaw them from a thicker piece or buy them ready made?  Also, as Tom asked, can you tell us some more about your vac setup?

I got the vac system from joe at www.veneersupplies.com. It's the excell-1 vacuum ans a 2'x4' bag. The ply is made by using a 1/8th" bending poplar in layers and vacuuming them together to the jig pictured above.

Lookin' good. The way you have used the veneer reminds me of a cigar label on a cigar.

A lot of people say it's 2 people blowing smoke at each other. I was thinking about calling it "Face 2 Face"

Festools used to build this, Domino, dx93, ets150 and I think that's it. ;D OOPS almost forgot, my HL850-E planer too.

Incra setup for the hinges? Great as usual Bill!

One comment about the excell-1. Its great and I have run it 4 to 10 hours a day for well over a year. The switch melted and now I plug it in and unplug it from the wall directly instead of using the on/off switch. I am switching to a better cord and switch.

Other than that everything I  have purchased from Joe is killer. And again Bill, awesome work.

How your wife lets you get away with smoking cigars is beyond me. We can not get within 50 feet of someone with a cigar and she is all over me, even when I am not the one smoking the darn things! At least I can get any tool I want with no slack at all.

Nice free gift, for a contest?

Nick

Maby their smoking a dog rocket. ;D My BIL & I smoke cigars in my shop. Only quality cigars though. There is a huge difference in a good one and a dog rocket. ;D

A little update in the contest to give this away. There have been well over 120 tickets put in the box for the drawing. It also created hundreds of posts. Been a lot of fun so far. Wish I had more time right now.
