Hi,

Totally new to Festool, I bought a domino and CT36 last week. 1st project will be a woodworking bench using jointed/planed/laminated 2x4s and 2x6s of soft wood

As I do not possess a bandsaw and the money to afford it neither, does something like the PS300 would be ok to satisfyingly cut the recess under the two legs.

I may use a track to keep it straight but my experience with cheaply jigsaws shows me it's nearly impossible to get a perpendicular cut. Would I be able to achieve it with a Festool product ? Is there a better way to achieve it ?

Thanks

I think that for your application, a jigsaw is a fine choice. I have an 18" bandsaw in my shop and I cut nearly all curves with my Trion.

For the price of a Carvex, you should be able to find a good used bandsaw.

Or for the price of a carvex one should be able to get two good jig saws.

Thanks a lot for all the replies. As it is a temporary/first/practice bench. The jigsaw will definitely be more than just fine. When I'll move and get the proper space, so the maple bench AND bandsaw will come in.

Again, thanks to all ;)
