I had a idea and discussed it with a couple of UK FOGGERS.

What do ya think about having a UK get together say mid late June?

It wouldnt be a Festool sponsored event no festool give aways totally unsponsored if any festool people want to come they are welcome.

But it wont be job related or any dealers want to come great but like I said it wont be job related so no pimping their stores offering deals etc its not for that.

In order to build a sense of community it should be unsponsored unstructured nothing for financial gain.

I am want of more of a bunch of festool enthusiast getting together and hanging out chatting and discussing things building a community.

I was thinking of setting up my MFT and I have a lot of their tools so if any one wants to demo something or has questions on tools we can compare notes of how we approach different work methods we can compare and demonstrate them.

Even teach each other ways we do different things.

Is anyone interested in this sort of thing? I fishing now to see if there is anyone interested in just meeting up and hanging out.

This is a small island and there are quite a bit of us who live close enough to make this possible.

I might even convince the wife (I started working her already) to have a bbq and cook up some american style hotdogs or whatever for us to munch on.

So watcha all think???

I'd be up for that! Can't commit 100% at the moment, but I'd certainly be interested!

I take it it's going to be at yours, Jobsworth? Where abouts in Cambs are you? Just checked your profile & saw you're in Huntingdon.

Yea I was planning at mines. Like I said unsponsored.

I used to go to the fine homebuilding site and it became a close group of people where we would discuss our personal issues on line etc, then someone had a idea to host a get together. People came from all across the country . It became so popular they hold them every year at other peoples homes  in different states.

Well I dont think that will happen here but I would like us to get to know each other.

Yes I'd be interested in coming along.
Great idea with some workshop demo stuff by other foggers.
I think I'll start planning on converting the van into a camper!

Im looking fwd to meeting the UK guys.

Still working the wife for the hotdogs  [big grin]

I do want to emphasize that this is more of a social get together then anything else. But with all the knowledge we have here why not answer someone questions in how to do something.

Example wood be if someone we to ask me how I lay out my pieces to be dominoed , Id show them, but if there were say 5 or 6 people there, I sure there would be 5 or 6 ways each one of us would do it.

So this is nothing fancy, no selling etc, just some tool guys getting together chatting.

So Far I got 3 fer sure and couple of maybes.

Sounds like you want to hold a festool fest.......  I'd turn up as its much closer than a break time fest.......although I did get to the first rhodefest....

I would love to say I would come but it's a long way to travel.  I have a couple of mates down that way so it would be good to come down to see them.  Never say never eh.
Great idea btw.

You know about the breaktime fest?  Cool [cool]

Yea sort of like that getting to know each other community building that sort of thing.

Its way lower key then the FHB Breaktime Fest.

Count me in!

Happy to car pool and/or pick people up along the way. Have one or two Festools I could throw in the boot for people to try out too...  [thumbs up]

I would pick you up, but 570 miles from me to you, 594 miles from you to Jobsworth, and then back again when it's all over seems like it might take up most of a weekend!  [crying]

Might be quicker to sail!  [big grin]
