I'm seriously considering the purchase of Bridge City's Jointmaker Pro. I live in Toronto, Canada. Are there any dealers or Jointmaker owners up here who have purchased this machine in Canada? Or am I limited to buying directly from Bridge City?

If you did supply or buy one in Canada, who did you buy it from? I've emailed Bridge City Tools but have yet to receive a reply.

Thanks

I'm not from Canada, but even here in the US, I think Bridge City works only through direct sales.

By the way, the company is on a four day work week, closed Fridays.  In the past, I have gotten pretty prompt replies to emails.

If you buy from BC, check out the Founder's Club.  Members get a discount on products and the discount on the JMP will be larger than your membership fee.

I could have sworn these were being offered by Lee Valley last year, not seeing them on the recent catalog though

I should be so lucky. As it stands, it will probably be several months into 2011 before I can buy one direct from Bridge City. And then, I'll have to sell everything I own, offer my cat up for slavery and go into hock for the next twenty years to afford it. Between delivery and HST I'll be happy, but I'll be in the poor house.

I believe all Bridge City Products are sold directly from BCT only, most are pre-order, and most production runs sell out quickly.

We got to play with the new JMP Version 2 at the WIA show. The biggest difference is the improved bearings on the carriage. They are now steel balls instead of bushings, and the carriage moves with almost zero effort (although with a little more noise).

I ordered my JMP V2 at last years WIA show, and John E. is promising that they will be shipping this month. I don't know if this production run is sold out or not.

Lee Valley probably stopped keeping them in stock because it seems Bridge City can't meet up with demand. I'll have to flip through my old catalog's that I never throw out for some reason, to find out when. I'd get one myself but cannot justify the price at this point.

If you have an interest in one and the site says it is sold out, send an email to sales@bridgecitytools.com and you can ask to be placed on the waiting list.  They always make more than are pre-ordered and some people cancel between order and fulfillment.  2-3 of my recent BCTW orders were fulfilled that way.
