Hello again,
Thanks to everyone for all their input and comments on my last post, this time I wanted to ask about cutting with the Kapex.
This last few days my saw has started struggling to cut some 6x2 par tanalised soft wood on the 45 deg compound mitre.
I mean basically stop and I have to wait for a few mins for it to start up again.
I'm using a clean and sharp 60 tooth blade which was supplied with the saw.
I'm not pushing it hard or being impatient, the saw is run through my usual  ct26 which is plugged into a 5kva transformer.
Any suggestion on why this is happening?
I though before I go and send another repair request order through to festool I'd get some advice.
Thanks,
Louis

For those not in the UK, par tanalised means pressure treated.

You might have a sharp blade but my guess is that the blade may be gunked up.  If the saw is literally cutting out (stopping) then there usually is too much heat and it is protecting itself.

If the lumber is wet (which we normally see here across the pond) you might want to try several less deep cuts to see if that helps.  I am not saying that is the perfect scenario, but it could be a means to an end or a diagnostic.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for the comments, the blade is clean, I mean really clean, no gunk.
I regularly clean them as I usually cut mdf and after a while it leaves a residue build up between the teeth.
Most if not all of the timber is dry, i but from a timberbyeard where it's stored under cover.
I tried various cutting techniques but it still happens.
I guess it could be overheating I'll check next time I use it and report back.
Thanks,
Louis

Major flaw of festool. No first fix blade for kapex. When doing a lot of framing on the dewalt I will switch to a 40 tooth blade on a 12" saw. Festool really should make a 32'tooth blade for rough cutting. I mean what's the point of cutting pressure treated framing material with a 60 tooth finish blade. Besides the saw is underpowered.
