Kapex 120 vs 60

Hi All,

I would very much like a kapex but my workshop is a little bit on the small/narrow side so am wondering which one of the kapex to go for. 60 or 90.

My workshop is roughly 9mx3m. I already have 2 mft tables, one cast iron table saw in there and planning on adding a router table (on wheels so I can move it).

Ideally I would have a 120 but I'm thinking of space saving...I think the 60 would probably be alright for most of the job I need doing but is the 60 much smaller and easier to move if needed? Or 120 is just about the same.

Any opinions?

Thanks

Two very important features on the 120 that aren't there on the 60:

1) The effortless bevel control
2) The best hold-down clamp in the market

Those features, however, may not matter as much to you as they do to me.

Some said the dust collection is also better on the 120, but I haven't used a 60 before so I can't confirm if that's really the case.

The 60 isn't really that much smaller, couple inches in each direction. Check out the size on Festool site. If carrying it around that makes a difference plus the weight difference.

If you can fit the 60 in your shop, then you can probably fit the 120. I'd go for the 120.

I don't have a ton of time on the KSC 60 yet and I've never used a KS 120. However, the KSC 60 is really, really good. My GF and I were doing some test cuts on it, right on the ground and hooked up to a CT 48 with the 36mm hose. After 8-10 cuts, there was barely anything on the saw and almost nothing on the ground. I couldn't believe it.

No one talks about the differences between brushed motor and brushless? Obviously the larger capacity(if needed) is important differance. The hold-down would be nice on the 60. What would the estimate of life longevity of each?  [wink]

Since when does the wired 60 have a Brushless motor?

And even if so; no. With battery tools is results in more compactness and longer battery life. The extra electricity for wired machines is nil $

Since I'm based in the States, where the KS60 is not available, I went with the KSC60 because of its size. My workshop is a one car garage measured 22"L x 9.8", and the footprint of a tool matters to me. That being said, I've got another 10" Dewalt MS to handle contruction lumbers outside my workshop.
