Kapex 120

1 is a recon, little over a year. The other is 'full priced', a little over two years.

I cut everything. Maple, primed finger jointed pine, oak/maple stair treads/rails/balusters, dimensional lumber, Azek (and its clones), occasional aluminum extrusions, mdf, mdo.

Neither one is treated any differently than my old Bosch 5412. They do, however, treat me differently....by about 25 lbs.

Mines fine after 11 years. Don’t use it a lot, but it is used on job sites.
I make sure that I have a dedicated large gauge cord to it.

If is a big question,
Kinda reminds me of what my uncle use to  said.    If the dog didn’t stop to go to the bathroom, he would of caught the rabbit.
Good luck on your decision
Rick.

Just having a hard time with the smoking

There is an easy fix to that. Just put up a "NO SMOKING" sign in your shop! [tongue] [big grin]

Does anyone know when it is going to be out?

I see that you are in North America.  The answer to your question is:  Who knows?  Festool has customarily released new products in other parts of the world before releasing them here.  The delay has typically been 12 to 18 months but due to the fact that Festool will not discuss marketing out on the web we are left guessing here.

I’m waiting for the REB variant part list to be entered into Ekat.

There are currently 2 different armatures listed and 2 different field coils listed as replacement parts for the current 120 volt Kapex.  If/when the REB variant is finally released on Ekat and there are suddenly 3 different armatures and 3 different field coils listed, then that could possibly be an indicator of some redesigning of the Kapex drive system. We’ll not know until it’s on Ekat.

It would be congenial/nice/honorable if Festool were to make that declaration...however I’ve given up on that issue. You’re on your own...
