Hello,
I own a Kapex 120 compound saw, have it over 6years with no issues. I used it yesterday and it performed as usual. Tried it today and nothing. Pressed the switch, nothing. I tried the laser and that didn't work either. I have it in my workshop all the time hooked up to a festool vacuum. I plugged it directly to the outlet, nothing. I tested the fuse, that was OK. I took off the motor cover and tested for power at the brushes and it was live. I took out the brushes and there was plenty of length left on both. There is no tell tale smell of burn. I pulled the electronic board up from its pocket, I didn't totally disconnect it, just the pull off wire connectors to allow me enough play to get a good view, I'm not an electrician but nothing seemed burned or broken. I feel though that since both saw and laser stopped working together that this must be the source of the issue.
Can anyone throw some light on this for me? Or suggest another test I could do to source the issue. Is the laser powered via the switch or from the electronic board? Or has the motor failed? Any advice/suggestions will be much appreciated.
Regards
Sean
