Kapex 120REB extractor connector --> a 120EB?

Hi.  I have a Kapex 120 EB (T-Nr. 495822) which has the friction fit dust extractor connector (part 494307).  I would like to swap this out for the upgraded connector with lock capacity (part 203889) that comes on the 120 REB model.  Does anyone know if this exchange can be made?  And remain functional?  Has anyone done this?
