I recently bought a used kapex and I just picked up a 36 mm x1.5 m hose the hose fits great into my Festool ct 48 but the hose is to wide for the kapex I was hoping someone would guide me into buying the right part to connect the hose to the kapex. Maybe a part number if possible.  Anyways thanks

Are you sure it doesn't fit?  It's been quite a few years since I owned a Kapex, but I seem to recall that the 36mm (Festo) hose end fitted over rather than inside the Kapex dust exhaust port as the 27mm hoses do.

It might need to "stretched" slightly to fit snugly.

I suspect that the original owner may, for some reason, have a vacuum machine size fitting on both ends. You need a 36 mm tool end piece which is 500671. Fitting is very easy and there are lots of videos showing how to do it - I included it somewhere but have no hope of finding.

I believe my issue is I need a fitting that’s a 36 mm female That goes into the hose and a 27 mm female for The kapex.

I would not get a 27 mm connector as the dust collection is far better with a 36 mm end.

I agree.  I have a shortened 36mm hose on my Kapex.  It fits over the Kapex dust outlet.  Here is a picture.

So after doing some measuring I found out I have the 50 mm hose by 3.5 mm so anyone care to help me out into buying the right adapter to fit into my kapex. A part number if possible. Thanks a million

Were does one find a 36mm x 1.5m hose.  I can't find one, is this something Festool used to make, or something that only comes with a tool?

Unfortunately you can’t buy one, you have to cut one down.
I would suggest getting a long 36mm hose and cut it the size you want, then put another end on the rest and have another useable hose with the remainder.

I don't think there is an adapter from 50mm down to 36mm, but of course may be wrong.  A foot or so of duct tape will leave your (now dedicated) 50mm hose semi-permanently attached & sealed to your Kapex.  For other uses, just disconnect the hose from your vac @ the vac & use another.  Problem permanently solved, at what is basically zero expense.

You won't be able to adapt the D50 to the Kapex without rigging something.  I also believe that the D36 actually performs better than the D50 on the Kapex.  I would suggest a D36 hose.

I adapted a short 50 mm hose off a discarded shop vac to fit the kapex by remachining a PVC plumbing fitting.

I found that it worked very much better than when I used a 36 mm hose.

Sounds like I’ll be posting a 50mm x 1.5 m hose for sale since it seems like the 36 mm is the right one for my kapex.thanks everyone for the input you guys are great bunch.

That short A/S 50mm hose will also be extremely useful for other possible semi-stationary applications too:  Router table, Sawbench et. al.

If you want a snug fit to your kapex, then just build up the SCMS dust exhaust port with a few turns of PVC tape until the 50mm female end is a tight fit.  With even less airflow resistance & turbulence, volumetric extraction should in theory be superior to that of a 36mm hose.

So the person that sold me the 50mm hose told me that he has a Festool boom arm that he bought but didn’t fit his ct and that the hose he sold home is for the boom arm. I have the right CT 48 and the boom arm is for my model so after all this I’m still looking for a short hose that will do my kapex to my other dust extractor.
