Alright just got my Kapex and need to know if I'm just chasing the white rabbit or if I still need to adjust the saw?  I have been aligning it based on the supplemental manual

The first photo is the cut angle and the second is the bevel cut

Only you can really decide how accurate you want your saw and what you would be happy with, you can chase the end of the rainbow for a long time.

Looking at your measurements they appear to be metric. So as each result is 1/4 the final measured result, for the first you have a difference of approx. 0.3/4 = 0.075mm over 145.73mm, as 1mm = 1/25 inch, 1/10mm = 1/250 inch, and you have 7.5/2500 = 3/1000 of an inch over a distance of 145mm or approx 5.8 inches.

This is wood we are talking about, it moves, your results are likely to change with the weather, assuming a 2"x2" cut at 90 degrees you are looking at a difference across the cut face of 1/1000th of an inch. Is that too much of a difference for you?

As for your second set of measurements, you have a difference of 0.08mm which when divided by 4 = 0.02mm or 8/10,000" over a 110mm (4.4") length, only you can decide if you want to try and improve on that.

I think my math is correct, but it is early on a Sunday morning.

Ed thank you for the math, I think that is good enough for my needs.  I read so much and scared to make mistake which kinda make me procrastinate, for fear of screwing something up.

Again thanks for your input.

Jason,

I am new to fine woodworking and read a ton too. It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it. I've have done plenty of learning, some more expensive:)  For what it's worth i love looking at plans especially ones with material list and cut list. I can see if i can afford the material and having a cut list is invaluable.

Be Well and just have fun.

All Sliding Compound & Radial Arm Saws flex and skew as the saw carriage is extended.  By a combination of gravity and operator bias.  It's not likely that any cut can ever be perfectly tried and true.

Bias and flex can be adjusted for, or even minimised.  But not eliminated.
