Long time Festool fan with 18 Festool tools. However, my bad cut Kapex problem does not seem repairable. Looking for experience-based recommendation for an alternative brad miter saw. Any ideas?

Thank you. Second Makita recommendation I received. Found a Makita vs Festool video with the "expert" recommending Kapex. Amazing in light of all the bad forums concerning Kapex and seemingly lack of response from Festool.

Honestly, just another Kapex. The issue with yours has to be unit-dependent if somehow it can't be adjusted, not characteristic of the product overall.

One thought about your idea is my current Kapex is within warranty. If not repairable why would Festool not replace? Looking at a radial saw from Origianl Saw Company.

If you're talking about the commentaries on the smoking and armature problems with the KS120 those were limited to the later years (2014-2018) of the KS 120 EB. In 2019, Festool released the KS 120 REB that people presume resolved the issue because those smoking armature issues have not been present in the REB.

3rd for Makita. I used a 10" Dewalt (DW717) for decades, and it's still a great saw, but it takes a lot of space, depth-wise.
I replaced it a couple of years ago with the cordless Makita. LXT 36v (2x18)
My issue with Kapex is the vertical handle. The saw itself is fine, I know a few guys who love them, but I much prefer the horizontal handle.

Love, love, love my XGT 8.5 miter saw but it has a much worse rep for accuracy than the Kapex. IME a saw that doesn't get moved around a lot has a way better chance of staying in tune.

Wow, considering our earlier exchange I am surprised by your recommendation. Thank you. I'm leaning that way. The Radial saws I was looking at not one of the would state an accuracy/error rate on length of cut.
