Kapex blade cutting aluminum?

I have a one inch aluminum pipe, walls are about 2mm thick, and I need to make a clean cut in it. Will I wreck, or severely dull, the standard Kapex blade for this  job? I realize that carbide is harder than aluminum, but still, I worry.

My alternative right now is a crappy hack saw job.

As long as you are only make a cut or two, you'll be fine.

Just go slow, and listen to the saw for signs of stress.

Many of us have accidentally cut aluminum (like the mft extrusions) with standard blades.

LOL. Tell me about it. My TS55EQ went through my 1080 rail! Sucks, but after a minute or 2...or 3, you move on! [oops]

for those who cant justify the festool non ferrous blade at $135 but would like a dedicated non ferrous/plastics blade, i just recently found THIS one on amazon.  at $50 its hard to pass up! 

i did order one just a few days ago but haven't used it yet, i think i will get to use it in the next few days to cut some t-track, i will post my findings

Peter, like Ken said, if you're only doing a handful of them then the stock blade is fine. I've know it to cut the corner off the Kapex fence when doing bevels and someone forgets to move the fence back. Not me, but I've witnessed it.  [wink]

Thank you all for the replies. Slow it is. One last question if I may. Should the speed setting on the saw be set high or low speed setting?
