I'm building my Kapex 120 (old one ;) ) into a row of cabinets in my shop.  I also want the ability to put it on the UG mobile base when I need to be portable or have more space for long material.  In one of his Build Series videos [member=47173]Brent Shively[/member] with Festool makes a quick mention of doing exactly what I'm trying to achieve - repeatable positioning with the UG brackets remaining attached to the saw - but doesn't show HOW he gets the Kapex back to the same location (it's right around the 3:40 mark):=dUTFablDASRFBp4u&t=217

Does anyone know how he has this connected for repeatable positioning, or have any other ideas to achieve something similar?
Thanks,
Guy

Guy-

There are rubber feet on the bottom of the UG base.  Given the lack of clearance under the base in that video, I'm guessing Brent drilled holes where the feet are so that it can be indexed into the same spot each time.  That's how I'd do it, at least, and take into account the height difference necessary to account for that.

I think using the rubber foot makes sense to use as an index.  My only concern (and what makes me think that's not how Brent used it) is there is a plastic clip located right behind the foot that is very close.  The foot is really is only about 3mm deeper than the back part of that clip (which is lower than the front), which makes me think it wouldn't be a very positive index.  But maybe it's the place to start.

Please keep the ideas coming!  Does anyone know if it's possible to get this in front of [member=47173]Brent Shively[/member]?  Does he reply here often?

you could use the feet locators. However, before I remembered this, I used the casting bores on the back side of the mounting bolt locations and 3d printed a tapered bushing on one side and 20mm dog hole on the other with a thru hole to allow the hex bolt to go thru. Works a treat.
