Hey Guys,

I am having issues with my kapex dragging on the miter gauge and also I find it hard to move the miter cut a degree or two to fine tune a cut.I have to hold the lock button up and with both hands gently tap the saw to where I need it to go but because of the tightness of the pivoting axial I am always fighting to get it to where it needs to be.I have contacted the service/tech department on this issue and they said the drag it normal and went threw some possible ideas that it could be.After deciding it was none of them they asked to have the saw sent back and they would take a look and have it shipped back with-in 48 hrs of receiving it to minimize my down time.Festools service by the way is OUTSTANDING !!!! Any how I don't want to wast anybody's time if this is just a characteristic of the saw.I can live with it if this is in fact a characteristic,  but if anyone can confirm this happens with there saw or does not it would help me on my desision to send the saw out for F T to take a look.As for the saw itself I feel it is an outstanding product and would choose it over any others out there regardless of this issue!!

I just got the saw a few weeks back and had the same drag issue pop up. (To be clear, I'm referring to the drag on the top edge of the silver miter plate, about 1/16" from the very back edge.)

Talked to Festool service and it seemed like that was normal and noisy. Asked if some lube on that spot would be ok, and they didn't see any harm in it.

Put down a few drops of my favorite bike grease (White Lightning) at that spot and all that scratching/dragging disappeared. Repeat as necessary.

Yes,that's it.------ I took another look and I put some super synthetic grease on it and it did quiet it down and help with the drag.I think I am going to try and use some of this self stick teflon strip I have and see if it'll stay on the detent to make a permanent solution. Thanks
