I just set up my new Kapex so far everything is great well worth the money! However I noticed the dust collection is not as good as thought it would be. Any suggestions?

Thanks

What size hose and vacuum are you using? I was not satisfied with the dust collection on my kapex, but the addition of the larger hose made a big difference.

The larger hose made a big difference for me. Also, I get better dust collection when the auxillary fence is open. I have a zero clearance auxillary fence on my Kapex. I notice a big difference when the fence is closed versus when the fence faces are set apart. Dust collection is reduced at zero clearance.

There is a shot of my Kapex in my profile pic.

Make sure your vacuum is turned up all the way and that the rubber dust catcher is in place.

I would like to add to what Erik said and make sure the CT is set to turn on automatically.  That makes a HUGE difference I've found.

With the soft start of the CT vacs it helps to allow the vac to get up to full speed before cutting.

I agree, Brice.

I've noticed that if I start cutting instantly I can make a mess but just a moment's hesitation and I get nearly perfect dust collection. I use a CT 22 and 36 mm hose.

Curious if anyone has found a better method of dust extraction while cutting crown? While cutting 5" crown with the stops i notice that the dust collection is not as efficient. I am using the larger hose with CT-22. TIA

Make sure your your CT 22 bag is not full and give the green filter plunger on the back of the saw a couple of yanks to clean the filter.

I have found as the bag fills up the CFM's drop and the dust collection is affected.

Like the others said, make sure the vac is turned up all the way and let the blade get up to speed before starting the cut as well.

Just my Two Cents.
