Kapex extension wings; how to fix slide stop rail?

My Kapex extension wings fell the other day.  However, be they hit the group, one of them hit a table side.  This caused the groove where the adjustable block rides, to bend. Now I'm not able to slide the stop along the entire wing.

Is there any way to fix this?

Any one else encounter this damage?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,
If you’re not comfortable with using heat (heat gun or open flame) hammer and some withhold inside the channel, I might suggest you visit a car repair shop or similar if you have this nearby.
Most car repair shops (bodywork) have specialist tools and knowledge to repair metal. Aluminum might cause a challenge, but lately more and more cars have gotten aluminium panels and components that require the shops to keep up with methods to straighten these metals.

Post a picture of the damage.  I'm guessing that little T track at the top of the wing got pushed in enough to cause your stop block to bind and you just need to pry it back out?

You’re welcome!
Remember that Aluminum is a soft metal, start carefully. Just heat makes molecules in the metal to try to straighten and light light press will help on the way.
I don’t know too much about it, so seek advise with someone who knows the behaviour of different aluminiums. Extruded (as the wings are) might react differently than other shaping methods, in a repair process.
