Kapex Extension Wings won’t tighten properly

I have a KS 120 EB with the KA-UG-L extension wings.

Is there a trick to getting these tight?  I can tighten this all the way and the extension remains wobbly.

My v-groove is clear of debris.  I’ve had to resort to using a thin piece of scrap wood underneath to give it something to grab while I tighten it.

There is a trick. You're probably tightening it to the wrong place.
