My chop saw has not been making clean cuts leaving about 1/8 inch chip at the end of the board.  This is a relatively recent problem.  I needed to replace the blade but that didn't fix the problem.  I can't see how the slider can be the problem.  Any suggestions?

What species of wood and what dimensions? When you say the end of the board do you mean the end of the cut or the starting end of the board furthest away from the fence? Is it a Festool blade?

As much as the Kapex gets lot of complaints about reliability, the cleanness of its cut isn't generally an often heard complaint.

Hi [member=60932]Otool[/member] and welcome to the FOG!

Can you just check the cutting depth limiter is set correctly? It may be that it is set for grooving, even if only slightly, which would leave a small amount of stock at the far end of your cut (closest to the fence). Is that what is happening perhaps?

there's a hex screw adjustment on top that regulates the depth that the blade will reach.  it's not in any of the manuals as of yet, although in the past i have mentioned to see if rick can put it in the supplemental manual update.  this issue has come up before on here as several others have indicated that they received similar out of the box.  i don't have time to search right now but perhaps you can find the thread or have others point you to it so you can see photos of the thing i'm talking about.  if you're still having no luck, i'll try to take a picture of mine when i get back.

first thing though, set your trenching lever adjustment to deepest it will go and bring the blade down without starting it and look from the side to make sure it was not that before you adjust the other thing.
