I thought I saw a thread about this before, but I couldn’t seem to locate it, so I’ll start this one. My KAPEX 120 EB table tilts, the right side is about .010 in higher than the left. It doesn’t sound like much, but it keeps my vertical cuts from being dead on from one side to the other. When I adjust the saw to make a perfect 90 deg vertical cut from the left side of the table, it won’t cut 90 deg on the right. And the other way around if I adjust it to cut 90 deg from the right side, very frustrating. In the other thread I remember someone had shimmed the low side to match the high side, not really a good solution but it went to the fact that others are dealing with the same issue. I really need this to cut on both side accurately, anyone else out there dealing with this and/or found a solution?

I would suggest that you give Festool a call and talk to the service department.  I know that is old school, but it is more effective then waiting for someone to answer here.  888 337-8600 whereas you are in the US.

Thanks, I called and was told to send it in with material that I've cut with it to show what it's doing. I was hoping not to have to send in a brand new saw, but I guess I don't have a choice...

FWIW -

I've had several conversations with the supervisor at Festool USA Service regarding the Kapex.

If I understood him correctly, their standards are entirely based on measuring cuts with a square or protractor to determine what is acceptable.  The saw either cuts straight and square enough or it doesn't.

I don't think they use a feel gauge set or other machinist tools.

I posted about this issue.

One of our saws was purchased reconditioned and was sent in shortly after for an Armature and the related was replaced.  I believe we only paid to ship it?

I did not have any time with this saw but later when I did, I noticed how bad the table was and Festool says, "send it in".

I'm done with all that.  I will take the saw apart when I get the time and look at the shims and possibly flattening (sanding) the table myself.

We are using one Kapex purchased new and a couple of Dewalt sliders currently.

While actual cuts are a good measure of how the saw performs, it must be cautioned that such tests worked only if they the lumber used for the tests were true and flat, free of twist, etc. (not to mention that the squares are indeed square).

Service all included exists to be used, there's IMHO no point in having but not using it.

Out of warranty is USA.
