I am considering the Kapex miter saw for coming projects.  While watching reviews, I noticed 2 part numbers for the saw.  KS 120 and KS 120 EB.  Is the EB a European version?
Thanks
Doug

Hi Doug and welcome to the FOG.  There is only one model available here in the US and that is the KS-120.

Peter

The EB version of all Festool machines stands for: Electronic Brake which is a kind of fast brake.
It means that the blade or router stops very short after stopping the machine.
I noticed that this B(rake) function doesn't exist on any of the USA 110V machines.

There are some US tools that are EB, the Kapex is not  [doh] one of them.

Did something change? I just went and checked, and my Kapex quite plainly says "KS 120 EB". In the training classes I took years ago, I seem to remember Sedge saying the Kapex was the only US tool that had the electronic brake.

Doh, you're right, Mike. I really think my brain it maxing out on Festool info.  [embarassed]

I should have remember since I've (unplugged) turned the blade by hand and you can feel the magnetic effect used to slow the blade.
