Kapex KS 60 Assembly Drops When Setting Bevel/Compound Angle Before Tightening

I've just purchased a new Kapex KS 60.

Everything is as it should be out-of-the-box, apart from one thing.

When loosening the wheel nut at the back to set a bevel/compound angle, the saw assembly's weight is supported (as reported it should do by Festool videos and various reviews). The assembly weight is supported fine to about 20 degrees or so, but much past that, the weight of it just causes it to drop to the full 45 degrees instead of staying in place before you tighten up the wheel nut.

It's hardly a deal breaker, as you can hold the angle manually whilst tightening the wheel, but given the outlay, it's not doing what reviews and Festool videos say it should do.

Is this actually normal, or is there something I can do myself to adjust the tightness of the support on angle setting?

Thanks for any pointers.

Are you confusing the larger ks120?

I believe the KS60 does not have that counterbalance feature. Or the micro adjustment of the 120.

Thanks for the reply.

It’s definitely the Kapex KS 60.

What I’m trying to explain is in this Festool clip (at 5m 40s).

He demonstrates how when you move the bevel/compound angle, the assembly should stay put, but on mine it just falls all the way to 45o under the weight:
=5m40s

Hopefully that shows what I means bit clearer.

I'm not convinced that's what he means, because it looks like he's supporting the saw with his left hand (slightly off camera). Plus, he doesn't have it tilted over very far. Maybe he just means that it doesn't just drop away when you first loosen the knob?
As far as I'm aware, it's only the 120 that has the self-supporting feature.

My KS60 stays up until about 20 degrees on either side. After 20 it starts to fall by itself. Seems a bit chincy compared to the 120 but not surprised due to it being a fairly small saw.

What's more concerning to me about the bevel functionality is that whenever I transport the KS60 on the UG stand the angle slips to about 5 degrees by itself. Now, as far as I know, it hasn't messed up any real work yet, but I've come close, so that's something I watch out for every time the saw moves.

Edit: It'd be great to find out there's a way to adjust the bevel clamp mechanism to improve both of these admittedly minor issues.

Thanks for the feedback; first time using any Kapex for me, so was only going off the clips/reviews, but no big deal though, as I can manually support, but just wanted to see if others have seen the same on the 60.

That’s good to hear that you see exactly the same thing after anything over 20 degrees, as that’s exactly when it drops under its own weight for me. I don’t have the stand, but good to know about the other issue, as I’ll either be going that route or whacking it into a station.
