G’day,
I have a Kapex 60 and needing a new blade. In Australia Festool not only want an arm and leg but my left testicle too. Does anyone know what alternatives there are? I have tried google without any success, plenty for the Kapex 120.

Cheers Bucky

Timbecon do a Torquata 220mm blade which should fit a KS60 I think.

Thanks for the replies. I was under the impression that circular saw blades were not recommended for the Kapex mitre saw. Now to decide what one or ones to get.

Oh. How's that?

Blades for circular saws and table saws have positive rake teeth so they pull the wood down to the table.

Blades for mitre saws and radial arm saws should have negative rake teeth, this pushes the stock down and back to the fence.

If you use a positive rake in a mitre saw the cutting action makes the blade want to come towards you.

If you use a negative rake in a table saw it wants to push the stock back to you.

I haven't really explained it very well but that's the theory.

Thanks Doug, I think you explained it pretty well.

I always thought that a small positive rake in a miter saw was also ok. But I must say, I do not have a lot of experience with miter saws.

Anyway, if the Australian links aren't interesting, the Dutch site I linked to has plenty of options. No need to be constrained by country borders these days.

Guess that first need to establish what the hook angle, tooth count, what type / depth of carbide etc is used by the Festool blade(s).

Then carefully check the spec's of the blades, from other sources, are exactly what you are looking for.
