Hello,
This is my first time messaging here.  I have a small collection if festool power tools that for the most part I am satisfied with, I guess I could say.

I noticed that the table height on the Kapex was 2 different measurements. I've searched for answers to this in the past and discover I wasn't the only one with this issue.  However, I never found an answer as to why or an explanation.  The reason I'm posting today is because for the first time It is affecting my work in a noticeable way. I actually broke the table saw out and finished my work in that.

Just for the record, I have 2 Kapexes.  Both purchased within 4-5 months of each other .

I removed the rubber feet on the one and that measures, 4 15/64" left, and 4 19/64" right.  The saw with the feet is off the same amount but I don't have it in front of me at the moment.

Has an answer to this issue ever been posted.

(It doesn't matter what position the blade is in, or the degree of miter ect.  It's off the same no matter what.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you saying that if your placed a flat piece of wood on the table, letting it extend over the edges of the table, and then measured the space between what the Kapex was sitting on and the bottom of the board you s=would have a difference of 4/64" or 1/16" between the two sides?

I am just asking for clarification before the discussion gets going.

Peter

Please forgive my rudeness.  [welcome] to the FOG!

So you are saying that the base of the machine is out of whack relative to the surface on which it sits, the working surface where the cuts are actually made is OK?

Not sure where this might be a problem as long as any extensions to the work surface is in plane with the work surface of the saw.

My Kapex is mounted on a set of DeWalt  brackets that allows me to mount the saw on a DeWalt DWX 723 stand at the jobsite, in the shop it sits in my fixed station with in-plane extensions set to the working surface of the saw, the DeWalt brackets stay on the saw at all times.

I can see a problem if the saw is sitting in a fixed workbench 'nest' setup for the saw and the nest maker used the low side of the saw as the mark to build thinking that all sides were equal.

Maybe Festool should offer adjustable 'leveling feet' for the Kapex so users don't run into this problem in the future.

I just bought and returned a kapex because the left hand table was about a 32nd lower than the center and right hand side. the small amount of time I used it ,I noticed that the motor was very hot. Has festool lost it?

By the way, two other kapex saws at woodcraft were the same, I did return mine on the 30 day policy.
