Ok, I know it's early in the game, and the date isn't set (SPRING 08), nor the price - (how's that for uncertainty!), but I am getiing  quite a few emails regarding the Kapex. To help keep things organized (learned a lot from the Domino sale!) and to better give me get a sense of the how much to order, folks can email me and be placed on the "pre" pre-order list for the Festool Kapex.

I've decided not to wait, I'll have mine now. ;D

Eli, You Suck  :P

Can you ship me a Kapex! Actually, for kicks I called Hafele Canada and asked if we Canadians had access to the KAPEX and was told they had never heard of it and showed no interest in checking into it.  >:(

Spring 08 ? At that time I am celebrating my Kapex his first birthday !! He's 7 months old today ....  ;D

Some of the comments by those fortunate enough to have already bought a Kapex show a less than mature, and very taunting, attitude which I abhor.

In protest, and to show solidarity with my Kapexless brothers in NA, I am not going to use mine for at least two hours today.

This will give me sufficient time to get the Belt Sander out and finish two table tops.

I have just emailed Bob and told him that I should be first on the pre-pre-pre list for the North American version of the Kapex.  ;D For our brethren overseas who have been taunting us with their access and use of the Kapex already, well, all I can say is that I am glad that they have gotten the early versions and worked out the kinks so that we may rightly get the updated product. :D Fred

"the early versions and worked out the kinks so that we may rightly get the updated product."

Crikey Fred

That brought back some happy memories of that wonderful song by Ray Davis and the Kinks, "Waterloo Sunset"

"Dirty old river, must you keep rolling
Flowing into the night
People so busy, makes me feel dizzy
Kapex lasers shine so bright
But I don't need no friends
As long as I gaze on Waterloo Sunset
I am in paradise"

They don't write 'em like they used to. ;D

See, once more just a slight mistake on your part and obviously we in NA will be seeing a better product as emphasized by the new, up to date version of Waterloo Sunset.

"Clean new river, must you keep rolling
Flowing into the night
People so busy, makes me feel dizzy
Kapex lasers shine so bright
But I don't need no friends
As long as I gaze on Waterloo Sunset
I am in paradise"

However, we on the correct side of the pond thank you for your efforts in preparing our tools for the true craftsmen. ;D Fred

No idea why the last line of the last post posted so small. If anything it should have been double the size as I was thanking our overseas brethren. 8) Fred

Pat,

Your consideration for the less fortunate is amazing!  8)

Dan.

As are his writing skills!  I am thoroughly enjoying most of what he writes.  I say "most" because some of it makes no sense to me absent an interpreter.  I have been once to Aberystwyth, and now I have exhausted my store of Welsh knowledge.

Thank you so much, Pat.  I am touched (daft actually, but that is a completely different topic).  If only all Rotweiler-friendly Irish-Welsh-Australians (with some German somewhere) were so sensitive, we wouldn't feel taunted at all.

I actually am beginning to think that there is no Kapex, and that some people just made it up out of thin air to push the NAINA thing a little.

And we on the other side of the Pond thought that everything was bigger in America! ;D

I believe you are correct Mr Goch,
Leaks from unnamed sources here in Oz suggest the NA Kapex will be designed for mounting on a flat bed ford, with optional Jackson Browne lessons, to encourage people to take it easy. Doubtless, many will slow down to take a look.
Anyhow I must get back to writing "My Kapex Almanac" ;)on this "Sunny Afternoon".

You're right, they don't write them like they used to.  :(

Point of interest. The guy who wrote "My Sharona" listed "Waterloo Sunset" as the number one song he wished he had written. ("I wish I'd said that", "You will Oscar, you will".)

Regards,

Rob

Brother Llap
I humbly admit, you have exposed my pride, and shamed me.
I flaggelate myself by also abstaining from Kapex use for two holy days, in solidarity with our less fortunate brethren.

Sorry, I meant two hours as well. Two days would be crazy. I mean the thing's so much fun.

Sorry, I'll do another hour for that. Alright, a day. One full day.

It's just a fancy chopsaw really. Hardly worth getting. Alright, two days.

Eli, just to help you out I am more than willing to take your Kapex off of your hands as you see it as nothing more than a fancy chopsaw.  :D I am even willing to pay for shipping. Just let me know when you would like to complete this transaction. ;D Fred PS Always willing to help a fellow yank.
