Kapex "Limit Stop" seems to be jammed (wedged, stuck) in position.

I was in the process of fitting a sacrificial back "fence" I'll call it (vertical piece that work sits against), and the right "limit stop" (sliding vertical fence) is now basically immobile.

I was using a 1/2" (12mm) piece of ply to make it, clamped it to the "limit stops" (according to EKAT), drilled holes, put in screws through the existing holes, then they wouldn't move much.  I assumed I had drilled too tight of holes for the machine screws, so I enlarged, the holes in the ply twice.

I used Irwin 6" squeeze grip clamps, and I didn't think I went overboard with pressure, but something is definitely not right.

Any suggestions?

It's dark here now, but I'll take some pics in the morning if it will clarify my setup and problem for you all.

Thanks.

Could the locking fastener (that the lever lock is attached to) be jammed in the T-Slot?  Guessing that when you clamped the sacrificial board you may have bound it up effectively locking it in place.

If the fence is only stuck when the zero clearance is installed, you should check out page 23 of the supplemental owner's manual (cut a small rebate on the back of the zero clearance fence to clear the bottom fixed part)

It’s not the locking fastener, I confirmed that it is free.

Initially I thought it was my fence that was causing it to bind, but it is stuck even after removing it.

Garry, I would also agree with what Frank-Jan said, you must rout or dado a relief on the bottom portion of the auxiliary fence you just made so that it will be free from binding.

The sacrificial fence was not the problem. As it turns out, I have, in fact, bent the main fence to the point it was pinching down on the sliding “stops”.

2 hours later I have the saw functional for rough work, but I’ll be replacing 3 pieces prior to my next build requiring right tolerances.

I’ll try to take some pics and make a write up of my error to hopefully mitigate other users from replicating my stupidity.
